Korean-American actor Daniel Henney is now married!

Daniel, who starred in the hit 2005 K-drama series My Name is Kim Samsoon (or My Lovely Sam Soon) has tied the knot with Japanese-American model and actress Ru Kumagai.

Korean entertainment site Soompi reported the official statement of Daniel's agency regarding this new milestone in his life.

The statement from Echo Global Group reads,

“Daniel Henney has met a special someone with whom he wishes to spend his lifetime, and their beautiful journey has culminated in marriage.

“His spouse is Ru Kumagai, an Asian model and actress active in the United States, who was previously linked to dating rumors [with Daniel Henney]. While they were only friends at the time, through this, their relationship gradually progressed to becoming lovers, and they recently held a private wedding with both of their families in attendance. We kindly request your understanding for not disclosing this news in advance.

“Considering that this is their private lives, we respectfully request that you avoid excessive attention and curiosity.

“We ask for your warm blessings and support for Daniel Henney and Ru Kumagai, who have thoughtfully made this decision. Daniel Henney and Echo Global Group will continuously strive to reciprocate the love and support you have shown us.”

My Name is Kim Samsoon aired on GMA-7 where Daniel Henney starred with Hyun Bin and Kim Sun-a.

The Kapuso Network also released a Pinoy adaptation titled Ako si Kim Samsoon in 2008, which starred Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Wendell Ramos, and Sparkle actress Nadine Samonte.
