Myrtle Sarrosa

The multi-talented Kapuso star was a courtside reporter in the NCAA for two seasons.

Myrtle Sarrosa is the definition of a multi-hyphenate celebrity.

She is a well-known cosplayer, an accomplished online gamer, a prolific singer and songwriter, and a budding actress.

But lost in the mix of things is Myrtle's past role as a courtside reporter in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Yes, Myrtle used to deliver news from the sidelines during NCAA games for Seasons 91 and 92.

“That entire experience for me was very memorable because I was also a student back then,” Myrtle told sportscaster-host Martin Javier during a guesting on Rise Up Stronger: NCAA Season 96.

As a courtside reporter, Myrtle was fortunate to see the league from all angles.

And while seeing the games up close was thrilling, it was the people who left a lasting mark on Myrtle.

“I got the chance to get to know all the teams, all the payers, all the coaches. Pati referee, pati mga nagtitinda ng pagkain, nakilala ko silang lahat,” she beamed.

She continued, “There were many times na naiyak ako sa bawat games kasi all the players worked hard to rise up stronger and seeing them overcome all those hurdles was so much fun.”

Myrtle believes that the NCAA is in good hands under GMA's watch.

“Being isang Kapuso, iba talaga ang alaga sa akin ng GMA,” said Myrtle, who signed an exclusive contract with the network in February last year.

“I know na kung paano ako inalagaan ng GMA, ganun din ang pag-alaga nila sa NCAA.”

Rise Up Stronger: NCAA Season 96 airs weekdays at 2:45 p.m., Saturdays at 4:30 p.m., and Sundays at 5:05 p.m. on GTV.

Kapuso viewers based abroad can catch all the action via GMA Pinoy TV and GMA News TV.
