The house of actress Nadia Montenegro is one of those that were badly affected by Typhoon Ulysses.
In an Instagram post made on Thursday, November 12, Nadia showed footage of a flooded street and the current state of her home at a subdivision near Marcos Highway.
According to the 48-year-old actress, she was unable to save any item from the ground floor.
“Everything inside. Gone! Pero safe lahat.”
The following day, a bare-faced Nadia is seen in a video on the social media site to share what she's learned during the experience.
"Good morning, it's the morning after. Watching the news. We are all safe, the kids and me, although watak-watak kami,” she said to her followers.
“Wala lang akong makausap. I'm so used to being the one on the other side helping. Kaya hopeless ako ngayon kasi hindi ako makatulong. Pero, I'm so grateful to be on the other side with all the help that we are receiving, all the love that we are receiving from each and every one of you.”
Nadia even recalled yesterday's events, including not being able to save any of her furniture and equipment as the water rose.
She continued, "Bumigay po ang wall ng creek sa tabi ng bahay namin while we were trying to save the cars. Nalingat lang po kami [then] the water from the back of the house doon po dumaan and then umabot na kaagad ng hita, tapos umabot kaagad ng bewang.
“In short, wala kaming na-save, wala kaming nakuha but those are material things. Ngayon naiintindihan ko na, kasi nangyari sa akin ito.”
Nadia concluded her video by saying thank you to those who checked on her and her family and encouraged her followers to continue to pray for the victims of the typhoon.
“If there's one thing I want to share, e, 'yun nga sabi ko sa post ko natangay man ni Ulysses lahat, nakuha man niya lahat pero grateful lang ako na lalong tumibay ang faith ko.
"Many lives [were] lost, and I ask you to please continue to pray for them.
“Matibay ang Filipino pero mas matibay tayo kapag mayroon tayong Diyos sa buhay natin. And I know that this is just a test, a trial--but a sad one. It's a dark time for me, but my faith is just so much stronger, and I feel so much loved.
“Thank you. I'll be fine. We'll be okay. Ulysses didn't damage me, he affected me, but he didn't damage me.”
