K-pop idol Taeyong will take a break from his singing career as he gears up for his upcoming military enlistment in April.
The NCT member is reportedly enlisting in the Navy as an active soldier beginning April 15, 2024.
Korean entertainment site Soompi published a statement from Taeyong's agency SM Entertainment, which confirmed the news.
Part of the statement reads, “NCT's Taeyong is enlisting in the Navy as an active duty soldier on April 15.
“There will be no official events held on the day he enters the recruit training center, and we ask for your understanding as his enlistment will be held privately to prevent safety incidents due to congestion on site.
“Please show continued support and love until the day Taeyong diligently completes his mandatory military service and returns in good health.”
Taeyong is also part of the K-pop group subunit, NCT 127. He will be the first member of NCT to enlist in South Korea's mandatory military service.
