Alice in Borderland is a Japanese series that follows teenager Arisu, who, along with his friends, is transported to an apocalyptic version of Tokyo called the Borderlands. There, they are forced to participate in survival games to earn playing cards.
The first season, released in 2020, focused on games involving numbered cards, while the second season in 2022 introduced more intense games featuring Jack, Ace, King, and Queen face cards.
The season finale saw the remaining players win their final game and return to the real world, only to discover that a meteor had devastated parts of Tokyo, which led to their being sent to the Borderlands.
Alice in Borderland Season 3 was officially announced by Netflix in 2023, accompanied by a poster showcasing a Joker card.
According to a statement, Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya will reprise their roles, and Shinsuke Sato will continue to direct the series.
The third season is set to premiere in September 2025.
