
It seems the weather was also in mourning on Friday, August 5, as many parts of the country were drenched in heavy rains when news broke out that screen legend Cherie Gil passed away.
The death of the showbiz icon was confirmed to GMA News's Lhar Santiago by her nephew, The Fake Life star Sid Lucero.
Immediately, several netizens and celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to Cherie, who immortalized the character of Lavinia Arguelles in the film Bituing Walang Ningning, acting opposite Megastar Sharon Cuneta, who played the role of Dorina.
In fact, the name of the late actress was still trending on Twitter in the morning of August 6.
International fashion icon Heart Evangelista, who had the opportunity to stand as judge with Miss Cherie and Jose Manalo in StarStruck in 2019 retweeted an old photo with the great actress.
