New Kids on the Block and SEVENTEEN

Here's the collaboration we never knew we needed.

Calling all fans of '80s boy band New Kids on the Block and K-pop group SEVENTEEN! The two successful boy bands have hopped on an unexpected collaboration and released a brand new remix version of NKOTB's famous song “Dirty Dancing.”

“Dirty Dancing” is one of the most nostalgic tracks of NKOTB released in 2008 as part of their album The Block. As they gear up for the release of the said album's 15th-anniversary edition, The Block Revisited, they teamed up with SEVENTEEN's Joshua, DK, and Dino to amp up the festivities.

The collaboration between SEVENTEEN and New Kids on the Block was first teased last August 31. The Western boy band released a teaser showcasing their name and SEVENTEEN's with the caption “09.01.23.”

SEVENTEEN's official X account retweeted the post and said, “CARATs, it's coming. With @NKOTB.”

On September 1, New Kids on the Block finally released a remix of their song “Dirty Dancing.” The brand new version features a wonderful blend of the group's and Joshua, DK, and Dino's vocals and will be part of their anniversary album The Block Revisited.

Joshua and his gentle voice gave a tender flair to the upbeat track, DK's powerful vocals effortlessly stood out and blended with the other artists' sound, and Dino's rapping skill cemented the modernism of the song.

In a behind-the-scenes video uploaded on SEVENTEEN's official YouTube account, Joshua, DK, and Dino expressed their excitement having embarked on this partnership with New Kids on the Block.

Joshua revealed, “My mother used to love New Kids on the Block so it's fascinating to make music with them.”

“I think a lot about the vibe when recording and if it's in a different language, I try to make sure I sound as natural as possible,” Dino admits.

DK echoed his sentiments and said, “I'm trying hard to sound natural singing in English and searching for what I can best express through the song.”

Joshua commended Dino's pronunciation when it came to his rap and said, “I was really surprised by his amazing English pronunciation.”

The new rendition was well received by Carats and New Kids on the Block fans alike. Some still even can't believe that the collaboration is true. A Carat fan, who goes by the username @dorkyshua, said, “THIS IS JUST CRAZY. The fact that my mom is a huge fan of NKOTB and i'm a huge fan of SVT- this just blown our mind!!! Like who would have thought of this amazing collab?!?! Wtv it is i cannot wait to scream with my mom omg!!!”

Congratulations, SEVENTEEN and New Kids on the Block!
