iGMA caught up with Pia Guanio after the first telecast of
Showbiz Central and she shared some thoughts about the new program and what it's like to host
What do you get when you cross S-Files with today’s most controversial critics and the hippest hosts? It’s an all new showbiz experience. Headlined by Pia Guanio, John “Sweet” Lapus, and Raymond Gutierrez, the Sunday talk show promises to deliver hard-hitting truths on issues that people care about.
iGMA caught up with Pia Guanio after the first telecast and she shared some thoughts about the first airing of the program.
Pia told us that there was no adjustment needed with Sweet, whom she had worked with on
S-Files. But what about Raymond?

“It’s a good thing that I know Raymond personally,” shares Pia. Knowing him off-screen meant that she didn’t have to adjust to him either. “We just had to encourage him because this is the first time Raymond is hosting a showbiz oriented talk show.”
“He’s a very good host,” Pia quickly added, to make sure that we didn’t get the wrong impression. “But showbiz talk shows like this require some other (elements), so we just had to orient him about certain attributes of showbiz.”
On the pilot airing of
Showbiz Central , the whole studio buzzed with activity, and everyone was giving their hundred percent to do the best job they could. It was the ideal setting for a pilot airing of a talk show that’s never been done before on Philippine television!
“There’s so much uncertainties that goes with the live show that’s brand new,” Pia told iGMA enthusiastically. “First of all, it’s a live show so there’s no way can do anything over. With that, you have to get it (right) on the first tape. But then, once we started naman we were able to adjust already: to the tension, to the excitement, to the uncertainties.”

If tension was running high during the first telecast of
Showbiz Central, it definitely didn’t show. And the pilot episode went off without a hitch!
And for her parting words, Pia sent out a request to viewers everywhere: “Showbiz Central is now on your TV screen. It’s a brand new showbiz-oriented talk show that’s infused with Hollywood news. Hopefully you’ll get all your showbiz facts, all your showbiz interviews, all your rumors straightened out, right here at Showbiz Central every Sunday, 4 to 6 pm right here on GMA.” --
