Mahigit isang dekada ang hinintay ni Atasha Muhlach para matupad ang pangarap niyang maging bahagi ng showbiz, kung saan kilala ang kanyang mga magulang na sina Aga Muhlach at Charlene Gonzales.

Pormal na ipinakilala ang isa sa mga kambal na anak ni Aga at Charlene bilang bagong talent ng Viva Artist Agency kahapon, July 3.

Sa press conference matapos ang pagpirma niya ng kontrata, inamin ng 21-year-old na si Atasha na sampung taong gulang pa lamang siya ay gusto na niyuang maging bahagi ng showbiz. Ngunit kinailangan niyang isantabi muna ang pangarap na ito para tapusin ang kanyang pag-aaral.

Aniya, “This is something I always wanted to do ever since I was 10 years old, when I did the Sound of Music. That's when I realized I really do love to perform. I love to sing, I love to make people smile.

“But at first, there's a clash in my school that time, I needed to prioritize my studies first. That's also what I promised to my parents and to myself, once I get that out of the way, and now, I'm here.”

Kahit nag-aaral sa abroad, hindi raw nawala ang interest ni Atasha sa showbiz.

“It never went away,” sabi ni Atasha sa GMANetwork.com at iba pang media na dumalo sa press conference.

Dagdag pa niya, “For a moment of time, I was exploring the corporate world. But then, I kind of realized, I've always been creative growing up, I might as well pursue that and try my best in that field.”

Gayundin, hindi rin iniisip ng dalaga na huli na para pasukin ang showbiz.

Katuwiran niya, “I never think any opportunity is too late. As long as you put in the work, you put in the effort, and you take every opportunity which is truly a blessing, and you learn from that. The process of learning, it's ups and downs, are just really the best part. It's never too late to do whatever is in your mind.”

Samantala, kung noon daw ay may pag-aalinlangan pa ang kanyang amang si Aga sa pagpasok niya sa showbiz, ngayon daw ay todo suporta na ito.

“I'm guessing that he was not as open because I was still in school and that's always a priority. Whenever I focus on anything, I always wanna try my best and make sure that I always give it my all just like in my school and my studies.

“So, for years, it's always school first, school first. Now that that's done, 'Okay, you're ready, go, spread your wings and fly.'”

Kaugnay nito, itinuturing din ni Atasha na advantage ang pagkakaroon niya ng mga magulang na galing sa showbiz.

Paliwanag niya, “I think the good side of it is I can get advice from them since they've been in the industry for years and their advice mean a lot to me. In terms of disadvantage, I wouldn't say that there won't be one, but it's like an inspiration.

“I really do admire what my parents have done through the years in their work and in their craft. If anything, it inspires me to do better or be someone in their status.”

Ano naman ang naging paalala sa kanya ng mga magulang niya?

Sagot ni Atasha, “The best advice they gave me was just be yourself, always be kind, always be respectful, and to always get every opportunity given such as like this, this is such a dream. So, just be you and work hard.”

Bilang bagong talent ng Viva Artist Agency, inaasahan na maglalabas ng bagong single si Atasha na sa paglalarawan niya ay “happy song.” Nasa plano rin ang pagiging bahagi niya sa ilang acting projects.

Ayon kay Viva Entertainment executive Vincent del Rosario, “Yung dream for Atasha is to be a multimedia artist. So, whether it be a recording, sa movies, even on stage kung gusto niya magteatro, sa digital, even fashion or endorsements, kumpleto. Siyempre, may building blocks, ayaw natin siyang madaliin, we'll work at her pace.”

Sa huli, ayon kay Atasha, gusto niyang ma-enjoy ang pagiging bahagi ng showbiz.

“I think the only expectation that I have for myself is really just to try my best. And if I fall, I get back up and really learn and just enjoy the process.”
