Elias (Rocco Nacino) and Salome (Rain Matienzo) of 'Maria Clara at Ibarra' had a mini-reunion at GMA Gala 2023.
Kapuso stars Rocco Nacino and Rain Matienzo had a reunion at the GMA Gala 2023 after their successful stint as Elias and Salome at the top-rated GMA Telebabad series Maria Clara at Ibarra.
Rocco walked the red carpet wearing a monotone suit by Jaggy Glarino with Yves Saint Laurent glasses.
"Let's see if throughout the night masuot ko siya, but I'm really, really confident actually," he said during the interview portion with Rain and Martin Javier.
Almost one year after the pilot episode of Maria Clara at Ibarra, Rocco and Rain continued to feel the success of the show as it taught Filipinos the two novels of Dr. Jose Rizal in a unique manner.
Rocco said, "With that show, with Maria Clara at Ibarra, it has helped so many people like kaming mga artista, it opened up so many opportunities pa."
"And with that show, maraming bumabati, lalo na mga kabataan. Mas naiintindihan nila ang mga importanteng istorya katulad ng Noli Me Tangere at El Fili."
For its second year, GMA Gala 2023 served as a fundraiser for the benefit of the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
