
“I was great and I missed you all so much. Mabuhay!”
This was the greeting of Lee Min-ho to his Filipino fans during the media conference prepared for him by property developer SMDC on Sunday afternoon, October 15, at the Conrad Hotel Manila in Pasay City.
It's been seven years since Min-ho last visited the country. He was here in 2014 and 2016 for fan meetings.
One of the first things he noticed upon his arrival on Saturday night was the warm welcome of his fans.
He said in Korean, “I really didn't notice that time flew really fast. It's been seven years since my last visit here in the Philippines. I really felt how much my fans waited for me here when I arrived last night at the airport.”
The Heirs actor said, “I always receive a lot of energy from the Filipino fans that's why I miss this a lot. Ever since my arrival last night at the airport, as soon as I came down the airplane, a lot of people were waiting for me. Fans are waiting for me outside the airport, too.
“It's a shame that I wasn't able to meet them personally. But being able to see them, I was so happy and missed them a lot.”
The South Korean actor is currently in the Philippines to join the celebration of SM's 65th anniversary celebration at the SMX Convention Center on the same day.

Meanwhile, at the media conference, Lee Min-ho admitted that he is still called Gu Jun-pyo, his popular character in the South Korean series Boy Over Flowers.
In Korean, Min-ho said, “There are still people who call me Gu Jun-pyo and I'm very surprised by this to think that Boys Over Flowers 13 or more years ago. It's amazing to see how a project from so long ago can be continuously influential to other people and continuously remembered by people.
“That's why, as I mentioned a while ago, for Pachinko Season 2 and my other dramas, I always try my best for me to create different projects that can also last for years and decades and people will remember.”

The 36-year-old South Korean actor was also asked about the secret of his career longevity.
He answered, “I think the secret to my longevity is first, of course, for those who believe in me. Also whenever I try to do a new project, I try to set a new separate goal or a specific objective that I want to achieve. But I always try to show my true self and do my best in doing my projects, too. I think that helps me a lot.”
Lee Min-ho also teased fans with his upcoming projects, including the second season of his hit drama series Pachinko that will be released next year.
“As far as I know, by next year we will be releasing Pachinko Season 2 and several Korean dramas. I would love to tell you all that we spent so much time doing our best for us to create these wonderful projects. I hope everyone will be excited for these, too,” he said.
