King Charles presents BLACKPINK with the Honorary Member of the Order of the British Empire medals during a special investiture ceremony.

BLACKPINK just scored another prestigious recognition, and this time it's from no less than King Charles.

Britain royal King Charles gave the four BLACKPINK members -- Rosé Park, Jennie Kim, Jisoo Kim, and Lalisa Manoban the Honorary Member of the Order of the British Empire medals in the presence of President Yoon Suk Yeol, at Buckingham Palace, London, on Wednesday (GMT). South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and First Lady Kim Keon-hee were also present during the ceremony.

The King awarded BLACKPINK to acknowledge the K-pop group's contribution "in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to the global audience as ambassadors for the U.K.'s presidency of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2021."

The MBE is among five classes of British order and is awarded to "people who made contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organizations, and public service."

BLACKPINK also attended a state banquet joined by the Royal Family, President Yoon, and First Lady Kim a day earlier. During his speech, King Charles praised BLACKPINK and mentioned their names, saying he "can only admire" how they have shown importance for climate issues while being global superstars.

The Royal Family's official Instagram also showed the First Battalion Welsh Guards on the palace court during the changing of the guards playing a BLACKPINK song.

"On Wednesdays, we play Blackpink," the post was captioned with a video of the band playing "DDU-DU DDU-DU," referencing a popular quote from Mean Girls.
