Viewers noticed that a contestant's answers was misheard by the 'It's Showtime' crew.
It's Showtime moved quickly to resolve a misunderstanding that viewers noticed on the “ Mechoose-Mechoose” episode that aired yesterday, December 7, on GTV.
In a statement posted on the show's official Facebook page and its other social media accounts, the production explained the situation that happened between a Lipa, Batangas player named Marifi and It's Showtime host Ryan Bang. Due to the production mishearing Marifi's response as “tinapay” rather than “pizza pie”, the contestant was able to move on to the jackpot round and eventually win PhP80,000. Television viewers were quick to notice the discrepancy and once alerted of the situation, It's Showtime production heads met with the first-round players and decided to equally split the P80,000 prize between them and Marifi.
The show ended its statement by confirming its resolve to give audiences “fun and entertaining segments” while also “observing honesty and integrity.”
