David Licauco on working with Barbie Forteza in Pulang Araw

Are you excited to see the team up of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco again on primetime?

David Licauco is hard at work taping for the much-awaited GMA Prime series Pulang Araw.

The Sparkle actor and entrepreneur will be working with the brightest stars of the Kapuso Network in this project, like Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards and Sanya Lopez. Of course, David will be paired again with his onscreen love team Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza.

David told 24 Oras that he learns a lot by tackling different roles, “Every role meron ako natutunan e, like dun sa Maria Clara may natutunan ako. Kay Carding may natutunan ako. And for this time naman sa Pulang Araw as Hiroshi I wanna you know like immerse myself to Japanese culture as much as I can.”

He added that Barbie's presence in Pulang Araw reminds him that everything is going to be okay, since they know each other well.

“Barbie [Forteza] is there, so, parang I have this assurance na everything is gonna be okay when I'm with her, kasi parang madali siya katrabaho.” David explained, “And we know each other so well.”

In addition, the Chinito hottie talked about some of his similarities with his character in Pulang Araw saying, “Kapag Japanese ka medyo mahiyain ka, shy type. Kapag manliligaw ka, medyo mahiyain ka. So, I think medyo ganun ako in a way in real life. So, hindi naman ako masyado nahihirapan.”

“I'm just being my real self.”

On January 19, Malacañang has announced that February 9, 2024 as a special non-working holiday to give the people the full opportunity to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

With this festivity fast-approaching, David Licauco also shared some of the traditions they follow. According to him, he always looks forward to seeing a Dragon dance performance.

“Ang pinakaexcited ako 'yung Dragon dance e. Cause it's a sign of good luck. Good luck sa lahat ng ginagawa sa buhay and I think kapag nagaganun ka, parang feeling ng mga Chinese in a way pampasuwerte. Kaya uso rin 'yung mga traditions may mga fruits and like maglalagay ng ampao sa labas ng bahay para like alam mo 'yun para pumasok 'yung alam mo na, like money.”
