
After winning as Best Child Performer at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival, Firefly lead star Euwenn Mikaell bagged another award as he won the Child Star of the Year award at Trinity University of Asia's Platinum Stallion National Media Awards 2024.
In Firefly, Euwenn portrays the young Tonton, who journeys to find the mythical island of fireflies based on his mother Elay's (Alessandra De Rossi) bedtime stories.
"Maraming salamat po sa bagong parangal," the caption on Euwenn's post on Instagram. "Congrats bebe ko Yuwenio Mikaell."
Firefly director Zig Dulay also won as Director of the Year while GMA Network was hailed as the TV Station of the Year.
Firefly will be shown in the Film Development Council of the Philippines' Cinematheque Centre in Manila, Iloilo, Davao, Negros, and Nabunturan from February 7 to 17.
Firefly also won the Best Picture award and Best Screenplay for Angeli Atienza at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival. It also won Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra, and Best Director at the inaugural Manila International Film Festival in Hollywood, California.
