SM Entertainment confirms aespa's Winter has undergone surgery for pneumothorax.
Winter of girl group aespa underwent surgery for pneumothorax or a collapsed lung.
On April 12, SM Entertainment officially confirmed reports from media outlets, and said that the member of aespa is currently recovering.
"Winter recently underwent surgery for pneumothorax and is currently recovering,” stated the agency. As [pneumothorax] is a condition prone to recurrence, [the surgery] was carried out as a preventive measure in accordance with her doctor's opinion, and the decision was made after plenty of discussion. Regarding her future schedule, we will consider Winter's recovery status our top priority moving forward," Soompi stated, quoting SM Entertainment.

Winter was still seen participating in group activities recently, as she made an appearance over the past weekend with her group members in the music show Venue 101.
In the meantime, aespa is scheduled to make a comeback in May, along with a world tour that begins in June.
