The Sparkle family officially welcomed Roxas City's beloved "Bangus Girl," May Ann Basa, during the Signed for Stardom 2024 event last May 16.

Introducing herself as the newest addition to the Sparkle family, May Ann was filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity she had long dreamed of.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Bangus Girl expressed her excitement joining the Sparkle family saying, "Sobrang saya ko po ngayon kasi dati pangarap ko lang po maging artista, ngayon nandito po ako sa GMA kaya maraming salamat po sa Sparkle GMA Artist (Center) sa blessing at sa pagtiwala, sa opportunity po na binigay n'yo po."

Fans have much to anticipate as the Kapuso celebrity revealed her plans to explore the acting industry along with other new Sparkle influencers: Mark Oliveros, Shan Vesagas, and Chef Ylyt.

Currently, undergoing continuous training in workshops, May Ann has her sights set on various GMA programs in the future.

When asked about her preferred genre, Bangus Girl replied, "Puwedeng comedy, drama, mga ganun po, horror. Pero comedy talaga po."

Additionally, May Ann shared her desire to work with one of her favorite Sparkle artists and her role model, Jillian Ward.

"Gusto ko po makasama sa teleserye si Jillian Ward. Grabe po mga Kapuso, sobrang galing ni Jillian and hopefully magkaroon din po ako ng teleserye," she expressed.

May Ann further revealed, "Super fan talaga ako ni Jillian dahil bata pa lang po si Jillian, nakikita ko na po 'yung paano siya nag-start dito sa GMA. Grabe po 'yung hard work niya and deserve niya naman po 'yung narating niya sa buhay."

Known as "Bangus Girl" on social media, May Ann Basa gained popularity with her entertaining and relatable videos showcasing her daily life as a bangus market vendor.

She has already displayed her acting skills in GMA's television series, Wish Ko Lang.
