Kapuso child star Euwenn Mikaell bagged another Best Child Actor award for his role as Young Tonton on Firefly at the prestigious FAMAS Awards.

Firefly tells the story of Young Tonton and his journey on finding the mythical island of fireflies based on his mother's bedtime stories.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa FAMAS dahil ako po ngayon ang pinili niyo na best child actor ngayong gabi. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Diyos kasi pinahiram niyo po ako ng talento para magawa ko ang lahat ng ito," he said on his acceptance speech.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa GMA familo ko, sa Sparkle family, at siyempre po, sa Firefly family pero hindi ko makakalimutan ang totoong pamilya, nagpapasalamat po ako."

Euwenn then dedicated his award to his grandmother.

For the same role, Euwenn has already won the Best Young Actor award at the 2024 Paragon Film Lokal Choice Awards; the Best Child Performer at the Metro Manila Film Festival; and Child Star of the Year at the 2024 Platinum Stallion National Media Awards.

Directed by Zig Dulay and written by Angeli Atienza, Firefly won the highly-coveted Best Picture award at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival. It also won Best Screenplay for Angeli.

At the inaugural Manila International Film Festival in California, Firefly also won the Best Picture and Best Screenplay awards, alongside Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra and Best Director for Zig.

Firefly also stars Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Cherry Pie Picache, Epy Quizon, and Yayo Aguila. Kapuso actress Max Collins and Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes also have special participations.

Firefly is now available on Amazon Prime Videos worldwide.
