The highly-anticipated series Pulang Araw starring Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Alden Richards, together with Dennis Trillo, will be available for streaming on Netflix three days ahead of its television premiere on GMA.

Pulang Araw is set to be the first GMA drama, to stream first on Netflix before airing on free TV.

This family drama tells stories of courage, sacrifice, and hardships that every Filipino family has. These stories were inspired by the tales of the unsung heroes who defied the odds of World War II and the Japanese occupation in the Philippines.

On top of that, this is the first-period drama that brings together five of the biggest stars in the country.

Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza will play the role of Adelina, a selfless Filipina ready to sacrifice everything to protect her family. "First Lady" of Primetime Sanya Lopez will play the role of Teresita, who together with her sister Adelina, will rise to fame as a Vaudeville performer in the Philippines. However, in the course of the story, Teresita will be forced to serve as a comfort woman during the Japanese occupation. Breakout actor and "Pambansang Ginoo" David Licauco, who will portray the reserved Japanese man named Hiroshi, will bring mystery to the series. And finally, Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards will portray Eduardo, a brave and determined young Filipino man who will do everything to fight for his country.

Meanwhile, Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo will take on his first villain role as a ruthless Japanese soldier named Yuta Saito.

From the makers of the historical portal fantasy series Maria Clara at Ibarra, Pulang Araw will be yet another first on Philippine television as a primetime offering of GMA Entertainment Group headed by Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, Assistant Vice President for Drama Helen Rose Sese, Program Manager Edlyn Tallada-Abuel, and Executive Producer Shielyn Atienza.

Under the helm of brilliant director Dominic Zapata and award-winning writer Suzette Doctolero, Pulang Araw is playing on Netflix on July 26 and airing on GMA Prime beginning July 29.
