
Buboy Villar has a role in an upcomig Japanese movie which will be shown in theaters next month.
The film titled DitO, tells the story of an aging defeated boxer down on his luck.
He leaves his wife and daughter in Japan to revive his boxing career in the Philippines.
His daughter surprises him by visiting him in the Philippines, in the gym where he trains, and their lives both change drastically.
Parts of the movie portray life in the Philippines, and feature Filipino stars-including Kapuso actor Buboy Villar.
Buboy is seen in the trailer of DitO as well as the film's official Instagram page.
People's champ Manny Pacquiao is also seen making a cameo in the trailer, giving tips in boxing.
Among the cast are Takashi Yuki, Momoko Tanabe, Mon Confiado, Buboy Villar, Lou Veloso, Lesley Lina, and Machiko Ono.
It also marks Takashi Yuki's directorial debut.
DitO premiered in film festivals in 2023 and is scheduled to be released in cinemas in Japan on July 26, 2024. No announcement yet if the movie will be shown in the Philippines.
