South Korean entertainment agency and record label MLD Entertainment officially introduced the latest addition to their family, P-pop group New:ID.
At their recent media conference held at the Skydome, SM North Edsa, the Filipino group warmly greeted the local press as they introduced themselves. Hosted by the charming Sparkle star and Lapillus member Chanty, the event proceeded smoothly as the group shared their experiences and aspirations of becoming P-pop stars.
New:ID is composed of Wilson, Macky, L, Thad, and Jom, who were former contestants from the television program, Dream Maker. Although they didn't make it into the final cut for the P-pop group HORI7ON, all members persevered in pursuing their music dreams. They underwent rigorous training in South Korea for over a year, focusing not only on honing their technical skills but also on developing discipline for thriving in the P-pop industry.
"Hindi lang po sa skills lang kami tinuruan. Tinuruan din po kami kung paano maging responsable, kung paano po maging hardworking po talaga, maging patient po sa kung paano po mag-training," Macky explained.
The group also shared their ambitious dreams, including their aspiration to represent the P-pop industry globally.
"At the end of the day, P-pop rise 'di ba? Hindi lang tayo sa Pilipinas sisikat kung hindi dadalhin natin ang pangalan nating Pinoy sa global stages," Thad enthusiastically stated.
"One of our visions for our goal is also to make people happy with our music and I think our goal is also to keep motivating people around the world," Wilson added. "We want to send a good message to everyone and we also want to spread love and positivity."
New:ID introduced their unique concept where their name stands for "new identity," signifying their approach to adopt a distinct persona for each song they release. They previously unveiled their prologue and pre-debut singles "E.R." and "Déjà Vu," which exuded a dark, mysterious, and sexy vibe.
July 25 marks New:ID's official debut in the music industry with their two digital tracks, “GHOST” and “The Day We Meet Again.” Through these songs, the group will showcase another concept identity of the group. They also aim to create more cherished moments and grow alongside their fans, whom they consider important to their journey.
The highly anticipated official music video for “GHOST” will premiere tonight on YouTube at 6:00 p.m.
