
Miss Eco International Philippines Alexie Brooks suffered a personal loss today as her beloved grandmother has passed away.
In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Alexie announced that her grandmother, Lola Basing, had passed away earlier today, September 10. In the caption to the post, Alexie declared that she loved her grandmother “more than anything” and that the of her loss is “unbearable.”
In another post, Alexie shared a photo of her writing from when she last visited her grandmother, sharing that her hands were shaking and her heart was breaking when she was writing it. She would then go on to describe grandmother as “my mother, my father, my bestfriend, my mentor, my master teacher, my greatest love.”
Alexie Brooks has a very close relationship with her grandmother, as revealed in a February episode of Good News. In the episode, Alexie shared that it was her Lola Basing that took care of her as she grew up and that her childhood was spent with her grandmother selling vegetables in the market of Leon, Iloilo.
Alexie competed in this year's Miss Universe Philippines pageant, where Chelsea Manalo emerged the winner and Alexie won the Miss Eco International Philippines crown. Other winners during the pageant were Miss Supranational Philippines Tarah Valencia, Miss Cosmo Philippines Ahtisa Manalo, and Miss Charm Philippines Cyrille Payumo.
Alexie is set to compete in the 2025 edition of the Miss Eco International pageant. Her fellow winner, Ahtisa Manalo, will compete for the Miss Cosmo International crown in Ho Chi Minh City this October 5.
