Iya Villania has signed a new contract with GMA Network, extending her journey as a Kapuso.
The 24 Oras host was present for her contract signing on Tuesday (September 24), along with Vice President for Musical Variety, Specials and Alternative Productions for Entertainment Group Ms. Gigi Santiago-Lara; GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Senior Vice President and Head Oliver Victor B. Amoroso; and Iya's manager, Boy Abunda.
Iya thanked the Kapuso Network for supporting her throughout her career and evolution as a mother. "First of all, thank you, GMA. Thank you to my bosses in 24 Oras, and the whole GMA. The honor really is mine."
"Kaya ako nahihiya because I'm just reaping the intro of the people who do the real work in GMA, which is sina Aubrey, sina Nelson, sina Tito Lhar. So, I'm really giving them all of the credit because kung wala sila, wala 'kong ichichika at wala rin akong alam."
"I really want to thank GMA for the honor because it really is a blessing to be able to do not just what I love to do but to be able to do it while being a mother. While being pregnant, I know not everyone can say they're given the same opportunity and I know that it's really just how God has been working in my life."
“GMA, thank you so much. The honor is mine that I'm still a Kapuso,” she said.
Iya started her career in GMA through the teen series Click. She signed her first contract with GMA Network in 2014 and renewed her contract in 2019. She currently hosts the “Chika Minute” segment of GMA Integrated News program “24 Oras.”
Iya is married to fellow Kapuso Drew Arellano. The couple currently have four children, Primo, Leon, Alana, and Astro, and are now expecting their fifth child.
