Rising American singer-songwriter Chappell Roan is facing a backlash after announcing that she has decided to cancel her performance at the “All Things Go” festival on September 28 and 29 in New York and DC.
She announced the news last Friday, September 27, on her Instagram account, which fans thought was very “last minute.”
“I apologize to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at “All Things Go,” but I am unable to perform,” Chappell wrote online.
Chappell explained, “Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it.”
The singer said that with the things happening, she wants to prioritize her health first.
“I feel [pressured] to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health,” she added, “I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible.”
At the end of her message, Chappell thanked fans for understanding and reassured them that she will “be back soon.”

“ [...] I'm honestly so impressed with the way she's been prioritizing her mental and physical health above all else,” an X user wrote, “[It's] so rare to see…”

However, some fans expressed their disappointment about Chappell Roan's last-minute cancellation, especially since some people flew from different parts of the States to see the pop star perform.
"Chappell Roan, you are incredible, but canceling last minute due to pressure isn't right. People spent real earned money to see you," a TikTok user.
The singer has not responded to any comments from the fans.
@lisapmarie Chappel Roan you are incredible, but cancelling last minute due to pressure isnt right. People spent real real hard earned money to see you. I respect mental health struggles and its clear you need 6 months away from performing. We love you take care of yourself and come back to the stage when youre ready to do the job. ❤️ #chappellroan #allthingsgo #chappellroantour #celebritynews ♬ original sound - LisaPmarie
