Michael Sager gets the chance to work with his “dream leading lady” Jillian Ward in a new kilig serye!
Sparkle heartthrob Michael Sager received a big Christmas gift by landing a role in a new romcom series with the 'Star of the New Gen' Jillian Ward.
The promising actor will be the leading man of Jillian Ward in the new kilig serye My Ilonggo Girl.
In a chance interview with GMANetwork.com, Michael Sager shared his thoughts about this big project.
“I'm so grateful to Sparkle and GMA. They have blessed me with another project My Ilonggo Girl and it's one of my dream roles, dream show, because romcom is something I wanted to do for a while, especially with Jill [Jillian Ward]. I actually always say sa mga interviews If I were to be partnered , one of my dream partners is Jillian Ward.” the actor-model said.
Prior to this new soap, Michael Sager and Jillian Ward worked together in the multi-story episode of Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko titled “Tiki Toktok” and in Abot-Kamay na Pangarap.
What was it like working with one of the most in-demand actresses of GMA-7?
Michael answered, “Memorable 'yung mga experiences ko with her because 'Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko: Tiki Toktok' that's my first appearance on GMA, as my acting debut. Kapre ako dun [laughs].
“Kaya enjoy kami ni Jill dun kasi palit ako palit ng Kapre. As in transform ako and masaya kasi very light 'yung story nun, sayawan. Tapos may pagkapre pa nga enjoy.
“And then eventually, we met again in Abot-Kamay na Pangarap and that's siguro where we got to have more scenes nga kulitan, more kulitan, more kilig. And hanga ako kay Jillian nun, kasi Abot-Kamay is a very fantastic show and she was a doctor there.”
He added, “Tapos isa akong patient niya and nakita ko yung skills niya, kasi 'yung mga terms or medical stuff nagagawa niya and hanga ako. And then eventually naging apat kami dun suitors ni Doc Analyn. So, masaya 'yung experiences ko sa Abot.”

In 2022, Michael Sager was part of the youth-oriented group Sparkada launched by Sparkle GMA Artist Center. He was tapped to be part of other shows in GMA like the noontime program Tahanang Pinakamasaya and the afternoon soap Shining Inheritance starring Kate Valdez and Kyline Alcantara.
With all these opportunities given to him, Michael Sager is determined to prove to his home network that they were right to entrust him with these projects.
“Again I'm just very thankful to the Lord, and to my managers Cornerstone and Sparkle. GMA of course, that they have entrusted me with these projects, with these opportunities.
“Something that I should not take for granted. All of the shows, I just promise and of course willing to give my all, my best. The blood, the sweat, the tears lahat! To give everything talaga” the Sparkada member stressed.
“I know I'm starting in this industry, I'm a rookie amongst veterans. The fact that I'm doing this to learn, to eventually improve in my craft is the long-term goal din for me. So yeah, I'm just really happy na may ganun silang trust sa akin and I just promise to always deliver my best and execute not just for me, the managers, and my supporters, and my family.”
