The Voice champion Sofronio Vasquez is back in the Philippines and was welcomed warmly by family and friends.
He reposted a video report of his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on January 5 on his Facebook account, with the caption “I'm back, Pinas” with a Philippine flag emoji.
In a separate post, he shared that after arriving from the airport, he went straight to a studio to rehearse, adding that they are “all set for It's Showtime” on Monday, January 6.
He noted in his post, “So good to be back, this studio used to be my working space.”
Sofronio made history as the first-ever Asian and Filipino to win The Voice back in September. He received the majority of votes from America, winning US $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.

In an interview, Sofronio opened up about the most challenging part about competing in the international singing competition, and that is to be away from his family.
“The hardest thing that I did with this journey is being away from my family. Being in the Philippines is really weird because we have a different scene of music there... they are not looking for the big belters here,” Sofronio said in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE last Monday, December 9.
Before the year ended, in a Facebook post on December 27, Sofronio announced his first concert in the country in Cebu in January 2025.
