Filipinos from all over the world celebrated when Megan Young took home the Miss World crown last year. Aside from her excellent performance during the pageant in Bali last year, the feat was also extra special because it was the first time the Philippines won the title.
Miss World Philippines National Director Cory Quirino still celebrates the victory until today.
“We made history with Megan Young. I’m very proud of her,” she said.
Megan has beauty and brains, and personifies everything a beauty queen should be.
“I can tell you that she’s the total package… She [is] grounded, centered, spontaneous, positive, very upbeat, inspiring and of course, she’s completely 100% gorgeous,” Cory added.
As proud as she is of Megan, she is optimistic about what lies ahead for the Miss World 2014 Philippines who will be crowned this Sunday.
“[Megan Young is] a Filipina that deserved to win the Miss World crown and it doesn’t mean it’s the last for the Philippines because we are after the crown again,” she declared.
This victory is not for her or the organization, but for the pride of the Filipino people.
“[We are after the crown again] not for our own personal victories or professional victories but because we are doing this for the Philippines – para sa pagmamahal natin sa Pilipinas,” she concluded.
