Jam Villanueva admitted she sought professional help after her breakup with actor Anthony Jennings.
“Nag-therapy talaga ako for a few months, yun po talaga ang nakatulong sa akin kasi may heart problem din ako,” said Jam during an interview with GMANetwork.com and other media at she was introduced as the endorser of Ampong Dental Essentials last night, January 29.
Jam had to be careful, especially when handling stress because she had open-heart surgery when she was six years old.
According to her, she received the worst criticisms, especially when she broke her silence about Anthony and Maris Racal, whom she alleged was the third party in their relationship.
In the interview, she explained her actions which made their breakup even more controversial.
"Siguro na-push lang din talaga ako kasi ang daming nangyari. I'm just a normal person, so I don't have anyone to defend me. Ang hirap din po kasi parang you're constantly judged by the people," Jam said.
She added, “Kaya ako pumitik noon kasi nadamay nila yung pamilya ko. Dalawa na lang kami ng kapatid ko and even my parents na up there na. Yun po talaga yung disrespect na hindi ko kaya.
“I even received text messages po from them, marami po talaga. Even sa kapatid ko. May mga… ang harsh, na 'Sana mamatay na kayo ng kapatid mo, blah-blah-blah,' 'Makakarma kayo ng kapatid mo.' The hardest part sa mga sinasabi nila is very disgrace ako sa parents ko.”
Despite the negative comments, Jam was grateful that there were also people, especially women, who showed support to her.
“Very overwhelming po talaga ang sobrang nakaka-touch ng puso. After all, makikita mo talaga na mayroon at mayroon talagang like, yung values ng mga kababaihan is okay pa rin talaga.”
Now that she's become a product endorser, Jam knows that she would be more open to public criticism and intrigues, and she's ready for it.
She reasoned, “Kasi, at the end of the day, lahat naman po ng opinyon ng mga tao ay reflection nila instead of ako. So, whatever they say, at the end of the day, kung kilala ko ang sarili ko, it's okay lang.”

Meanwhile, during the Q and A, Jam mentioned that while she has moved on from the issue, she was still in the process of forgiving.
In a separate interview, Jam said, "Kasi yung forgiveness naman hindi naman madaling process po yun, but I'm getting there."
She also said that she is ready to forgive if the people who have wronged her would ask for forgiveness.
When asked if it's really necessary to hear the word sorry first before forgiving a person, Jam answered, “There are people naman po na even if hindi nag-apologize sa kanila yung mga taong may ginawang mali sa kanila is ganun sila ka-strong na kaya nilang magpatawad even hindi nanghihingi ng tawad yung mga taong gumawa ng mali sa kanila.”
In the end, Jam said she would be okay if she had a chance encounter with the people involved in the issue.
“Kaya naman po. E, di hello,” she laughed.
