Several celebrities and fans continue to mourn the loss of beloved Taiwanese actress-singer, Barbie Hsu.

On February 3, the news of her passing shocked many as she soon passed away at only 48 years old.

Filipino fans particularly cherished Barbie for her iconic role as Shan Cai on Meteor Garden. Her combination of charm, talent, and warmth captivated audiences worldwide.

Her Meteor Garden co-actors have also paid tribute to their dear friend.

Jerry Yan, who played her love interest Dao Ming Si, shared his grief on social media. As translated, he wrote: "Thank you for meeting you. In your carefree and child-like years, you often say to treat every day as if it were your last, wishing to make the most of it. I hope that this time, you will walk slowly, and from now on in another world, there will be no more worries, and the years will be peaceful."

Ken Chu, who portrayed Ximen in the series, mourned his loss with a simple black image on his Instagram story. He also shared a complete cast photo and reflected that 2023 marked 22 years since Meteor Garden premiered.

Taiwanese actress-singer Rainie Yang, who played Xiao You, also paid tribute to Barbie, "Thank you, I will miss you forever and love you," in a story translated via Google.

Many fans also shared heartfelt tributes online, especially Filipino netizens, who expressed deep sadness as Barbie's Meteor Garden role had such a special place in their lives. Barbie's passing was announced by her younger sister, Taiwanese entertainer Dee Hsu.

She shared a statement with Taiwanese broadcaster TVBS News, "Thank you all for your concern! During the New Year holiday, our whole family traveled to Japan. My dearest and kindest sister, Xiyuan, unfortunately passed away due to flu-related pneumonia. I am grateful to have been her sister in this lifetime, to have cared for each other and accompanied each other. I will always be thankful for her and miss her forever. Shan~ Rest in peace! Love you always--Together, remember forever."

The actress passed away due to pneumonia from influenza complications, which sparked conversations online about her past health battles.
