P-pop soloist ZÉLA raised the Philippine flag on Sunday, February 23, when she opened the second day of the historic Waterbomb Manila 2025 at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park.
“It's really an honor for us kasi not everyone has the opportunity to represent our country dito sa malaking event na first time na nangyari rito sa Philippines. Very grateful po,” said ZÉLA in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com on her Waterbomb debut.
She was joined by her labelmate BILIB; a seven-member P-pop boy group composed of Zio, Carlo, Rafael, RC, Yukito, JMAC, and Clyde.

ZÉLA matched the Waterbomb energy with her performance of “Karma,” which she prepared for through intense training.
“Before kami nag-start, nag-training talaga kami nang bongga kahit hindi na kami trainees. Nag-prepare kami nang bongga [at] nag-diet din kami…” said ZÉLA.
The P-pop star also performed her new single “101,” which she describes as a song for empowerment.
“'Yung [setlist] ko po, pinerform ko po 'yung debut single ko and newest single ko na about empowerment. It's called '101' because my birthday is January 1. So, there's a lyric there na 'I was born to be number one' kasi about empowerment din. It's not just about me; it's like empowerment sa all people…” ZÉLA told GMANetwork.com.

After the success of her Waterbomb debut, ZÉLA is hopeful to have her own tour, “Gusto ko ng nationwide tour and world tour. Gusto kong dalhin 'yung Filipino music, 'yung P-pop, sa ibang bansa to promote Filipino [music].”
The OPM singer also said she wishes to collaborate with the kings and queens of P-pop, SB19 and BINI.
“Of course, SB (SB19) and BINI. For sure 'yan. Lahat 'yan ang gusto,” said ZÉLA.
She also manifested more projects in the future, “Abangan n'yo ang aking mga upcoming songs or album maybe. Hopefully soon. And 'yung mga events namin, hindi ko pa sure, pero feeling ko medyo madadagdagan tayo after Waterbomb. Sana. Manifesting talaga.”
