Michael Sager opened up a more vulnerable side of himself as he shared with his housemates in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition the sacrifices he made to pursue a showbiz career, which his father had also once planned to take.
In the "Chika Minute" report by Nelson Canlas on 24 Oras on March 12, Kuya instructed the housemates to share their beginnings in showbiz.
According to Michael, who stars in My Ilonggo Girl, he had always thought of entering showbiz because his father also auditioned for PBB Season 2. However, his father was unable to continue because his grandfather fell ill.
"Lumipat ako dito from scratch and wala akong friends--something I really wish I had. I really wanted this dream but ang laking sacrifice was my family and my life in Canada," Michael said
"I would go home to myself, eating and I couldn't share stories with anybody and I couldn't tell anything about my day," he shared as his voice started to break.
"I really said yes to it because it was my biggest prayer when I started. Full circle moment for me. I don't know how long I'll be here, I don't know how long this will last, I wanna be thankful,"
Michael was born in the Philippines but eventually migrated to Canada with his family. He previously worked as an ice cream scooper and a store sales associate.
His first television appearance was in the Disney Channel movie Descendants as one of the backup dancers. He was also an extra in films produced by Netflix and Nickelodeon. In 2022, he moved back to the Philippines and auditioned for different networks, until he signed with GMA Network for Sparkle GMA Artist Center, as part of the youth-oriented group Sparkada.
He has been part of shows Shining Inheritance, Luv Is: Caught In His Arms, Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap, and All-Out Sundays. Currently, he is among the housemates for Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition, known as the "Diligent Wonder Son of Marinduque."
Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition airs on weekdays at 10:00 p.m. and on weekends at 6:15 p.m. on GMA Network.
