The grieving family demands: "We ask Kim Soo-hyun to admit to dating Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor and issue an official apology."
The controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun and his alleged past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron continues to escalate globally.
Recently, Gold Medalist addressed the rumors and admitted that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were once in a relationship. However, they firmly denied allegations that the actor dated her when she was a minor.
In an official statement, the agency also refuted rumors regarding viral photos linked to the controversy.
"Despite HOVERLAB's claims that there are multiple photos of the two taken in 2016, when Kim Sae Ron was a minor, such photos do not exist because they were not dating in 2016," they clarified.
However, the situation took another turn when Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family issued a new statement online. According to reports, they demanded a formal apology from Kim Soo-hyun and his agency over how they handled the revelations.
In a YouTube statement, the family declared: “We ask Kim Soo-hyun to admit to dating Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor and issue an official apology. We also demand an apology from his agency, which has denied the relationship for the past three years and even repeated this denial just three days ago.”
Furthermore, they urged Gold Medalist to acknowledge Kim Sae-ron's contributions as a founding member of the agency and to apologize for issuing a repayment request of 700 million won (approximately $530,000).
The family also clarified, "The reason why Kim Soo-hyun was not mentioned directly in [our] last statement was to focus on warnings to Lee Jin-ho and Cyberreca (YouTuber),"
They added, "Our bereaved family wants nothing but an official apology from Kim Soo-hyun and his agency."
The grieving family also explained that to refute alleged false claims by YouTuber Lee Jin-ho, they had no choice but to disclose Kim Sae-ron's past relationship with the actor, which led to the release of photos involving him.
Kim Sae-ron, who was previously under Gold Medalist's management, tragically passed away last month at the age of 24.
As of now, Kim Soo-hyun and his agency have not released a response to the family's latest demands.
