'Multo' is now at the top of various Philippine streaming charts.

Raphael Ridao of OPM band Cup of Joe shared the story behind their viral song “Multo” in an Instagram reel uploaded on Wednesday, April 9.

For weeks, netizens, especially users from TikTok, have sung their hearts out to “Multo,” eventually leading it to the top of various streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

“My brother and I wrote 'Multo' noong 2020. Just two brothers stuck in a room na 'di namin alam i-proccess 'yung mga pinagdaanan namin at saka mga nararamdaman namin, so sumulat kami ng kanta,” Rapha shared on his Instagram reel.

He said it became an outlet for him and his brother, where they conveyed their untold feelings and thoughts.

After namin nasulat 'yung song, parang mayroon 'yung sense of relief.

In the same Instagram reel, the Cup of Joe member expressed his gratitude to fans and listeners who showed love for “Multo.”

So, in a way, parang naka-connect din kaming lahat sa inyo,” Rapha told fans.

He also reminded them, “Magkakasama tayo sa lahat ng nararamdaman natin. Walang mag-isa. Lahat tayo sama-sama.”

Cup of Joe is a Filipino pop/rock band composed of Gian Bernardino, Raphael Ridao, Gabriel Fernandez, CJ Fernandez, Xen Gareza, and Elian Akia. They are known for their hit songs “Misteryoso,” “Multo,” “Tingin,” “Estranghero,” and “Sagada.”
