K-pop boy group SHINee is officially releasing new music this 2025.
SHINee shared the news about their newest project, Poet | Artist, on Monday, May 19 (KST), on their social media accounts.
It is slated for release on May 25, 2025, at 12 MN (KST), in honor of the group's 17th debut anniversary.
According to Korean news site Naver, SHINee's newest project consists of two tracks: “Poet | Artist” and “Starlight.”
To make it more special, “Poet | Artist” contains lyrics from late member Jonghyun, who passed away in 2017.
“The title track 'Poet | Artist' is an electro-pop genre song that harmonizes the main theme of the song, the vocal riff, with an aggressive snare and reggae rhythm,” Naver reported. “Jonghyun participated in writing the lyrics and composing the song for SHINee.”
“The lyrics contain a message of applying literary and poetic license as a poet and artist, not only to works of art but also to everyday life, breaking the mold and creating something new together,” the news site added.
SHINee was originally a five-member group, composed of Onew, Key, Minho, Jonghyun, and Taemin. They are known for some of the biggest and timeless K-pop hits like “Ring Ding Dong,” “View,” “LUCIFER,” and “Replay.”
They are set to reunite for a three-day show in Seoul, from May 23 to 25, for the “SHINee WORLD VII: E.S.S.A.Y.” concert.
The group's rapper, Minho, recently visited the Philippines in March to conclude his “MEAN: Of My First” world tour.
