Filipina R&B singer Kiana V is back on the music scene with a new single, “Falling Out,” and she is ready to grow bigger with her upcoming album.
Kiana's continuous win in the music industry, including the international scene, is a testament to her talent and the uniqueness that a Filipino artist can only offer.
With this, Kiana is hopeful to work with her fellow Filipino artists in the future and fulfill her dream collaborations, as told in an online media roundtable this June.
“Number one (dream collaboration) would be Kyla,” Kiana told the press. “I grew up listening to her music, and I used to copy all of her runs, and I always make jokes that she's like one of my vocal coaches just because of how much I listen to her.”
She also added to her list Moira, Denise Julia, juan karlos, and Jason Dhakal.
“Moira -- she's a very good friend of mine, and I love her songwriting. There's also Denise Julia, who I love her music. Jason Dhakal [and] juan karlos as well,” said Kiana.

According to Kiana, she's happy about how the OPM scene has been thriving these past few years. “There are so many; there are so many [that I want to collaborate with]. Manila is booming, and it makes me so happy.”
After working in the States and the Philippines alike, Kiana said it is a matter of time before Filipinos find their true sound and conquer the international music scene.
“I do think that Filipinos have a specific voice, and I think that we are still trying to really find it, just in a way that K-pop has its thing and J-pop has a certain sound. I think that because Filipinos are known to be so good, we have so many different lanes, right? So that's what I really mean when I say our very specific voice is quite hard because we're so diverse…” Kiana told the press.
She added, “I do think it's only a matter of time before the Philippines is known for its original music, and not just the beautiful voices. It's only a matter of time because the people [in the States] are already whispering about it; everybody already knows.”
