Kapuso actress-host Iya Villania revealed that she remained a virgin until the night of her wedding with long-time boyfriend Drew Arellano.

She does not support the idea of premarital sex and thinks that virginity is something that should be protected by women.

“Premarital sex was once a huge no-no! And now being a virgin is impossible?!? What’s the world coming to??” she wrote on Twitter.

A few days ago, she defended her close friend Nikki Gil from a netizen who was doubting claims that she is still a virgin.

Iya expressed that keeping her virginity ‘til marriage was important to her, and emphasized that it is possible for others too, despite the presence of liberated beliefs.

“Seriously though guys… Being a virgin doesn’t have to be such a huge deal (even though it was for me) It can be done… There are still many girls out there who still hold onto their virginity,” she shared.

It’s all a matter of respect, according to the Taste Buddies host. “Respect, I would know, no judging,” she added in hashtags.
