"It's been what, 7 and a half years, right? You know, she's been such a great part of my life, the best blessing I've ever received...we're engaged," Paul said during the interview.

The big proposal happened last January 21, the day after Toni’s birthday.

The director added he first asked permission from the actress parent’s Pinty and Bonoy Gonzaga, before he popped the question.

Toni’s big break in showbiz happened when she starred in a soft drink commercial opposite Piolo Pascual.

She became a regular host in the longest noon-time show 'Eat Bulaga', before she transferred to the Kapamilya network in 2005.
