Young actors who played LGBTQIA+ roles

In 2013, GMA Network showed the first gay-themed series and groundbreaking drama, 'My Husband's Lover', which tells the love story of two men, Eric and Vincent, portrayed by Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo.
Two years later, the Kapuso network produced a lesbian-themed series 'The Rich Man's Daughter,' which featured Rhian Ramos and Glaiza de Castro. Its story is about a young lady named Jade, who was born into a wealthy and traditional Chinese-Filipino family. She will fall in love with someone of the same sex named Althea.
Since then, different movies have featured a member of the LGBTQIA+ community in the lead role.
In 2016, Kapuso actor Khalil Ramos portrayed Felix in the coming-of-age movie '2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten,' alongside Ethan Salvador and Jamesson Blake. The same year, Kapuso actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith played Alex in the movie 'Baka Bukas', which tells the story of how Alex, a lesbian, fell in love with her best friend.
In 2020, boys' love-themed series became a hit in the Philippines led by The Ideafirst Company's 'Gameboys,' which starred Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas. 'Gameboys' became a hit and well-loved online that video streaming giant Netflix will release the 13-episode series on their platform.
