Veteran actor Albert Martinez has been active in the show business since the early 1980s, when he starred in the hit Kapuso series 'Anna Liza' with the late Julie Vega.
In the original 'Anna Liza,' he portrayed Glenn Laxsamana, the loveteam of Julie's titular character.
When 'Anna Liza' was cancelled after the sudden death of Julie Vega in 1985, Albert focused his time in creating films.
In 1995, Albert starred in the Metro Manila Film Festival movie 'Muling Umawit and Puso,' opposite the Superstar of Philippine cinema, Nora Aunor.
The Nora-Albert collaboration then continues in the 1999 movie 'Sidhi,' where the Superstar portrayed a mute woman named Anna while Albert played Anna's love interest, who is married to Mayang (Glydel Mercado).
Aside from Nora Aunor, Albert has also done films with critically-accalaimed director, Tikoy Aguiluz.
Albert starred in Tikoy's award-winning 1996 film 'Segurista,' where he won the Best Supporting Actor trophy from FAMAS. Albert also portrayed the country's national hero in another Tikoy's film, 'Rizal sa Dapitan,' with Amanda Page.
In 2010, for the first time in his career, Albert wore the director's hat in the Metro Manila Film Festival movie 'Rosario,' starring Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo.
Albert went on to win the Best Director Award at the FAMAS Award, and got nods from international film festivals abroad.
