Kapuso teen royalty Jake Vargas added another feather in his cap. The Pepito Manaloto star bagged the award for ‘Best Rising Star’ in the 48th WorldFest-Houston International Film & Video Festival held in Texas, USA.

His stellar performance in the Cinemalaya movie Asintado (Between The Eyes) as a drug lord’s courier earned him the respect of the award-giving body.

In addition, Jake’s movie also won the Gold Award in the Children category. The movie was directed by acclaimed director Louie Ignacio.
