Batangas governor Vilma Santos-Recto had earlier declared that she currently has no plans of running for higher office in next year’s elections.

“So far, I don’t have any plans. In fact, I’m not entertaining it. That’s a very, very big responsibility,” she revealed in Lhar Santiago’s report on Unang Hirit.
Since she is on her last term as governor, all she wishes for now is for the Batangueños to recognize that she has striven to be the best leader she could be.
“Gusto ko sabihin naman ng mga Batangueño na nagtiwala sa ‘kin ng labing walong taon na... hindi ko man lang naipangako ang langit at lupa, masabi lang nila that ‘Governor Vilma Santos-Recto served us well.’ Yun lang, bayad na yung labing walong taon,” she said.
The Star for All Seasons is also currently working on a movie project with Angel Locsin, her son Luis Manzano’s girlfriend.
“Nagkaroon na kami ng mga test shots and then nagkaroon kami ng mga script reading [sessions],” she shared.
