Contrary to earlier reports that Elizabeth Ramsey had a stroke, the 83-year-old veteran comedienne suffered a seizure due to diabetes.

The Queen of Soul Jaya assured fans that her mother Elizabeth Ramsey is undergoing recovery, after she shared that the veteran-comedian suffered a stroke last Thursday, August 6.
 
 

Praise God for his mercy. Mama Beth Ramsey did NOT have a stroke. Instead a seizure due to Diabetes/hyperglycemia. She is moving and is recovering fast and communicates constantly. AYAW NA RAW NYA SA OSPITAL!!! ???? Thank you all very much for all the prayers. God bless you Mama and all of you who sent love and hugs!!! We love all of you ??????????????????????

She also clarified that it wasn’t stroke, but a seizure.
 
“Praise God for his mercy. Mama Beth Ramsey did not have a stroke. Instead, [it was] a seizure due to diabetes/hyperglycemia,” she wrote on her Instagram account yesterday.
 
The singer told supporters that her mom is in better shape now.
 
“She is moving and is recovering fast and communicates constantly. Ayaw na raw niya sa ospital,” Jaya added.
 
In an interview with 24 Oras, she said that her mom will move in with her so she can attend to all her needs.
 
“I will make sure she’s loved… Dito na siya sa akin titira,” she said.
 
Jaya also thanked everyone for the outpouring support that they have received over the past few days.
 
“Thank you all very much for the prayers. God bless you Mama and all of you who sent love and hugs! We love all of you,” she concluded.
