Way before Dingdong Dantes was the Kapuso Primetime King, he was part of an all-male dance group called the Abztract Dancers. Among his companions are cousin Arthur Solinap and fellow actor Dino Guevarra.

Last Saturday, the nine-piece group reunited for their 20th year anniversary and Dingdong couldn’t help but feel nostalgic.

“This is how it all started. During the time when grunge music, boybands, family computers, and long back T-shirts were the “in” thing, heto ang pinaggagawa namin,” he shared.

The actor, host, commissioner at large of the National Youth Commission and soon to be dad is glad to still be friends with the people who were with him when he was just starting his career.

“I am fortunate to still be in touch with the ones who were with me during my formative years in the industry… we came to realize this: people do not change, situations do. I am, and will always be proud of this group,” he added.
