Kira Balinger on network rivalry: 'I've never believed in the network wars'

The upcoming film Chances Are, You and I has captured the attention of netizens not only for its captivating love story but also for featuring Kelvin Miranda from GMA Network and Kira Balinger from ABS-CBN.
Given their connection with different companies, many were interested in their collaboration in the film. Despite the rivalry between their respective networks in the past, both actors expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work together. They found the experience refreshing, as it allowed them to explore each other's personalities and working dynamics.
During the movie's press conference, Kelvin remarked, "Very refreshing siya kasi alam po natin before mataas yung network wars 'di ba? Pero ngayon nagkakaroon ng pagkakataon mag-collab, magkatrabaho 'yung mga artista sa kabila, ganito, ganyan."
Kira added as well that it was a new experience for her to work with someone she had no prior knowledge about, coming from a different network.
"Sobrang refreshing to work with somebody na like you've never heard of before. Kasi syempre within one network, magkakaroon ng chika-chika yan. Hoy naka-work ko si ganito, ganyan, ganyan siya, 'di ba? Pero now, again it's very refreshing to get to work with someone and get to know them on the level wala kang alam talaga sa kanya. Like nobody has set an impression for you in your head talaga."
The Kapamilya actress also shared her perspective on the network rivalry, revealing her disagreement with it.
"Nakakatuwa to work with somebody from the other side na sobrang dedicated din sa trabaho na maayos din makatrabaho. Kasi syempre I've never believed in the network wars kasi para sa akin we're all in this industry for one goal, to give entertainment to people. So I never understood why there was a war in the first place," she said.
