Rosmar Tan, Rendon Labrador, Team Malakas apologize after viral Coron incident

Content creators Rendon Labrador, Rosemarie "Rosmar" Peñamora Tan, and their team, known as Team Malakas, recently issued a public apology following an incident involving a government employee's social media post.
In a Facebook video posted by Rosmar, the team gathered to apologize directly to Jho Cayabyab Trinidad, mayor Marjo Reyes, and the entire community of Coron, Palawan. Rosmar expressed regret for her generalized comment that unintentionally offended the town, saying,"Pasensya na kay Ma'am Jo, sa munisipyo at lalo na po kay mayor, at siyempre po sa bayan po ng Coron, Palawan. Sorry po talaga na parang pinost ko na 'Never again' hindi ko po sinasadya na i-generalize po kayo. Nagpadala po ako sa bugso ng damdamin at 'yun po 'yung pinakamaling ginawa ko and humihingi po ako ng tawad."
Rendon clarified their intention behind visiting the mayor's office, emphasizing that they came not as celebrities or influencers but as concerned citizens.
"Gusto ko lang po linawin na pumunta po kami doon sa munisipyo hindi bilang isang celebrity, hindi isang influencer and hindi bilang, lalo na, hindi bilang Rendon Labrador, Rosmar nagrereklamo. Pumunta po kami doon dahil bilang isang Pilipino, simpleng tao na nasaktan sa nangyari dahil sa isang comment ng isang servant," he explained.
The team reassured their supporters that they remain committed to their advocacy of helping those in need, promising to make amends for the incident.
"Babawi po kami at hindi po ito naging hadlang sa advocacy namin na makatulong at makapag bigay ng inspirasyon sa lahat ng taong nangangailangan. Team Malakas po ay magpapatuloy at hindi po kami titigil sa pagbigay ng kasiyahan, charity sa tao," Rendon affirmed.
Regarding the potential consequences, including being declared persona non grata by the mayor, Rosemar acknowledged their readiness to accept any fair punishment.
"Kung 'yun po tingin po ninyo na patas na desisyon para sa nangyari, at kung 'yun po 'yung sa nagawa po namin, humihingi po kami talaga ng tawad. Pero kung tingin po n'yo talaga, maluwag po naming tatanggapin 'yung parusa po n'yo na 'yun," she stated.
Rendon also appealed for consideration, expressing belief in the positive intentions of Rosmar and her husband. He asked the mayor to contemplate alternative punishments as well, for he wanted to visit the town once again with his family.
"Ako na lang po bigyan ninyo ng persona non grata at hiling ko po na sana kung ito man po ay matutuloy, gusto ko po hiling sa'yo mayor na bigyan n'yo po din ako ng pagkakataon na makadalaw sa Coron dahil po ay naipangako ko po sa aking pamilya na ipapasyal ko po sila sa Coron para makita ko po silang masaya," Rendon pleaded.
The controversy involving Team Malakas began when a video of them was uploaded showing how they stormed Coron's office of the mayor and confronted the staff over a critical comment made by an employee online. The employee in question was Jho Cayabyab Trinidad who accused the content creators, who were in Coron for a charity event, of exploiting the local community for their vlogs and social media content.
The issue escalated even more when Rosmar commented on social media, "Never again Coron, Palawan," to Jho Cayabyab.
Meanwhile, legislator Juan Patricio Eyes proposed a resolution to Jho Cayabyab to declare Team Malakas persona non grata in Coron.
