One of the guys behind Bubble Gang’s success will share his secrets via the iGMA Live Chat. Today, grab the chance to bond with Bitoy and get to know who the real Bitoy is. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez Live at the iGMA studios, Michael V. will bare his soul and will answer all his fans’ questions about him and his shows. The man of the hour, Bitoy as he is fondly called by his family and friends, has four successful shows on GMA – Bubble Gang, Bitoy’s Funniest Videos, Eat Bulaga and Marimar. Known for his effective impersonations, Bitoy’s talent and creativity are manifested in all his works and shows. Bubble Man Celebrating Bubble Gang’s 12th year on TV, Bitoy and his gang will give us something special for their birthday. DO-SE-NA, a musical extravaganza is a product of Bitoy and his creative team’s quest to give their viewers something new to enjoy and have fun watching. A two-part special, the first part will be shown on October 19, while the second part on October 26. “It’s generally a Bubble Gang gay action musical. Instead of the usual concert or reality show, we came up with something new na hindi pa nagagawa,” shares Bitoy, who incidentally is also the creative director of the show. Bitoy’s Funniest Aside from Bubble Gang, another show of Michael V. is also celebrating its third anniversary – Bitoy’s Funniest Videos. Having an avid following, Bitoy assures the show’s loyal viewers that they will be treated to brand new segments and a wackier Yari Ka portion. “New segments kasi minsan parang nagkakaroon ng panic attack iyong management. Parang pagka may bagong itinapat sa amin, tapos medyo tumaas lang ng kaunti ang ratings nila, nagpa-panic na. Gusto kagad baguhin iyong format, lagyan ng ganito. Pero kami mismo na production ang nagkakalma doon sa management. Sandali baka pwede hintayin muna natin iyong second episode nila. Tingnan natin kung ano iyong trending, pababa ba sila o pataas,” explains Bitoy. Bitoy@Bulaga Before Bitoy entered show business, he joined a lot of contests. One of the contests was in Eat Bulaga wherein Ogie Alcasid was one of the judges who turned him down. It is interesting to note that today, Bitoy is one of the regular hosts of Eat Bulaga and Ogie Alcasid is one of his closest friend in the business. Being an effective host and comedian, Bitoy provides comic relief in the show and has become one of the shows’ rare finds in the business. He has proven his worth in the show and is able to hold his own among the veterans of comedy, Tito, Vic and Joey. Marimar’s Fulgoso Bitoy’s role in the famed Marimar TV series maybe frowned at by some, but to Bitoy, giving voice to a dog is something that tickles his creativity and arouses his ingenuity. “It’s a challenge! How are you going to convey emotions without showing your face, 'di ba? Parang no-brainer nga na ako iyong pinili ng GMA because of what I’ve been doing sa Bitoy’s Funniest Videos 'di ba, na binobosesan ko bata, matanda, hayop, lahat.. inanimate objects. I readily accept this one. So iyon, tsaka hindi ganoon kahirap iyong trabaho,” explains Bitoy. He further described the ways on how he is able to effectively do the voice of Fulgoso and define the dog’s character in the show. “There are two ways to do it eh. One mayroon ng video na naka-prepare. Nakunan na nila. Which is good dahil makikita ko na iyong expression ng aso. Another is wala pang video at andito na iyong script. Well nakita ko na what the dog is capable of at saka iyong mga shots na pwedeng gamitin nung director may mga stocks na minsan. Minsan binibigyan ko sila ng challenge. Ini-indicate ko doon sa script na nagco-cover ng eyes('yung dog)(laughs),” shares Bitoy while smiling mischievously. Truly whatever task you ask this creative genius to do, he always finds a way to soar and excel in his work. No wonder GMA has entrusted him with not just one show in this network but four noteworthy programs. And what does he have to say about this? “Sa mga fans at viewers, ituloy niyo lang ang pagsuporta, kayo iyong biggest part nung production namin eh. If not for you, hindi naman namin ito itutuloy Kaya hanggat hindi niyo sinasabing tama na, itigil na namin, hindi kami titigil ng pagpapasaya sa inyo.” Aside from these shows, there are many facets of Bitoy’s personality and talent that this feature hasn’t highlighted.
