Encantadia concept creator and head writer Suzette Doctolero admitted that she was a newbie to telefantasya when she wrote the original GMA show back in 2005.

"I wrote that 11 years ago, unang fantasy soap ko," said Suzette in an interview with GMANetwork.com during Encantadia press conference last week.

According to Suzette, Encantadia was her first head writing project with the Kapuso network. "Nanggaling ako sa drama at saka sa romance comedy na mga pelikula so wala akong idea sa pagsusulat ng fantasy at bigla akong nagsulat ng Encantadia. So isa siyang on-the-job training for me," she shared.

With the Encantadia requel, Suzette said she focuses on correcting her mistakes in the original telefantasya. She explained, "Isinusulat ko siya sa POV (point of view) na nakikita ko 'yung mga pagkakamali na nagawa ko noon at kino-correct ko siya with this."

When asked what does she feel that her masterpiece will be shown again to a different generation of viewers, Suzette answered, "Ang pressure sa akin nito is how to come up with a new version of Encantadia na familiar sa Encantadiks but at the same time, masosorpresa pa rin sila 'pag pinanood nila. 'Yon 'yung pressure ng pagsusulat ng bagong version na 'to."

"Plus the fact na naipalabas na 'to before eh, so paano bibigyan ng bagong twist, paano bibigyan ng bagong bihis at papaano ikukuwento na hindi mo pa rin tinatanggal 'yung esensya ng unang kuwento," she ended.
