In doing 'A1 Ko Sa'yo,' Ervic discovered how different drama is from comedy.

Aside from establishing strong and enjoyable friendships with his co-stars, one of the reasons Ervic Vijandre enjoys being in A1 Ko Sa’yo is because he gets to venture into a new acting genre and express his true personality more.

“Sobrang bago ‘to for me. Siguro first time ko nailalabas lahat ng kakulitan ko. 'Yung normal ko na kakulitan sa bahay, sa mga kaibigan ko, dito mas na-e-express. Kasi before, lahat ng roles ko, puro kontrabida, laging galit, laging nananakot, nangingidnap, nanghoholdap, nang-aapi. This time, magpapatawa, mangugulit,” he said.

The Kapuso actor revealed that during their first taping day for the sexy-comedy show, he felt like he was exploring new waters.

“First scene ko, sobrang kinakabahan kasi I have to act na medyo makulit, na hindi ko usually ginagawa in front of the camera. Sobrang parang first time ko mag-aartista. Iniisip ko 'yung script, kung paano kaya i-pu-punchline 'yung ganito,” he added.

Right then and there, he was able to identify how different drama and comedy are.

“…Kailangan may timing at hindi basta sisigawan mo lang. Unlike 'yung sa drama na parang galit lang, nanlilisik 'yung mata or [nag-iiba] tono ng boses. Dito, may expression. Kapag may binato ka, kailangan mong sumalo na may expression 'yung mukha mo so sana kahit paano, magampanan ko,” he declared.

For him, being on the show is considered an answered prayer and his family and friends have wished it for him for a while now.

“Matagal ko nang gusto ‘to eh. Matagal ko nang gusto na magkaroon ng sitcom kasi 'yung mga kaibigan ko, sabi ‘Ba’t hindi mo i-try mag-comedy?’ Ang laki ko, awkward daw ako. ‘Ba’t hindi mo pagkakitaan 'yang kakulitan mo?’ Parang ganun. Ito, finally [I’m here]. Hindi ko kailangan umarte. Kailangan ko lang ilabas 'yung natural ko na kakulitan,” he concluded.
