Kapuso star Aljur Abrenica is getting praises at the moment for his Cinemalaya 2016 closing film Hermano Puli where he portrayed the title role.

The actor shares in the morning show Unang Hirit how he prepared for his role, “Nag-immerse po talaga ako sa pagkatao ni Hermano Puli.”

He also changed his physical appearance to look like the unsung hero, “I think I lost 10 to 15 lbs while doing this film. Marami kasing nagtatanong at nakapansin sa akin kung bakit ako pumayat at naging balbas sarado. Ito po ‘yung dahilan.”

Last night, the independent film was screened at the Cultural Center of the Philippines where his real-life brothers Vin and Allen showed their support. His leading lady Louise delos Reyes was also present at the event.
