GMA’s comedy-variety show Sunday PinaSaya received its second award in its first year as the PEP List Awards Year 3’s “Comedy Show of the Year.”
GMA’s comedy-variety show Sunday PinaSaya received its second award in its first year as the PEP List Awards Year 3’s “Comedy Show of the Year.” Two of its biggest stars, Alden Richards and Wally Bayola graced the stage at the Crowne Plaza in Ortigas Center last night (August 21).
‘Sunday PinaSaya’ wins first award as ‘Best Entertainment Program’
The Pambansang Bae told GMANetwork.com in an interview that it’s the program’s theme that made the show successful, “Nakakatuwa po kasi nakapag-introduce po ‘yung GMA [Network at] APT [Entertainment] ng panibagong mapapanood every Sunday afternoon. May kantahan [at] sayawan [pa rin] pero ngayon dinagdagan lang natin ng comedy kaya mas naging masaya siya.”
As for Wally, it’s bringing families to de-stress together, “‘Di ba ‘pag Sunday, usually it’s a family day so kailangan kapag family day, kailangan happy. It’s time to relax, it’s time to have fun, it’s time to enjoy life, [and] it’s time to enjoy Sunday PinaSaya. Marami lang taong gustong sumaya siyempre.”
Alden has proven the show’s formula works because of the feedback he has received, “Sa dami pong natatanong ko [na] nanunuod ng Sunday PinaSaya, iba daw ‘yung atake ng show. Kumbaga, hindi mo siya ina-anticipate [at] hindi mo siya ini-expect [so] may elements of surprise at saka magagaling po ‘yung mga makakasama namin dito sa show.”
The Kapuso stars said they owe the supporters for having the show reached this far. The Chef Boy Next Door charmer added, “Ginagawa naman namin ‘to para po sa mga audience and of course, para makapaghatid po ng tuwa at ligaya sa inyo every Sunday. Sana po huwag mawala ‘yung suporta. God bless po [at] maraming salamat!”
The Coach Cynthia actor also expressed his gratitude for the viewers, “Sobrang pasalamat namin sa mga supporters, sa mga Kapuso, sa mga fans, sa mga Dabarkads [at] sa mga naka-witness noong nagsimula ang Sunday PinaSaya. Congratulations [na rin] sa kanila.”
